Saved up to buy a pro saw, used it maybe 30 hours, catastrophic engine failure. Since it is out of warranty, Stihl and the dealer will do NOTHING for me. I did everything right, Stihl silver oil, stihl bar oil, saw worked great until it fried itself. I don't expect them to give me a new saw, but, they should act like they care that their machine failed so heinously.

The Stihl weed Wacker has burned my forearm poor design with the muffler would like anew model and some kind of compensation for the pain and hassel I'm waiting for a letter from Stihl corporate headquarters but still no response it's been 3weeks since I reported it and when the inventory happened I need that machine for my yard it's crucial I recieved another weed Wacker anew model asap and compensation of some sort for all the trouble sincerely Michael martin

I own several Stihl products and have been pleased with the operation and reliability of all. My complaint involves a ‘rash’ that has developed as a result of operating my Stihl weed trimmer.

I am using this online forum since I have been unable to find a way to communicate my complaint directly to the company. After using the Stihl weed trimmer over several years, after each use I noticed a red patch of skin on my right forearm where it came into contact with the Stihl motor housing. I thought at first that it was due to the heat emitted by the engine. That might be the case but I soon discovered tiny ‘bumps’ in the skin in the same area.

The ‘bumps’ have become more pronounced and are easily felt above the skin. I now suspect that fiberglass or some other product is used in the housing manufacturing of this product, and that it is transferred into the operator’s skin during operation. It’s very annoying and uncomfortable. Would appreciate if the company would comment on this matter, as I’m sure that I am not the only customer/user to experience this.

A warning, at least, should accompany these products if suspicions are correct. A reimbursement would be in order, as I can no longer use the product.

Brake locked ms 271

Brake locked on 271 farm boss it melted the plastic around the edges of clutch . I am no idiot I would not wipe my *** with 400 dollars . Stihl there is apparently a problem with the 271 farm boss , unless it's coincidence everyone has the identical issue with the same saw . Talk out your *** some more , husky just sold a saw .

Our family has recently lost everything we own due to our home catching fire. We own a logging company and had all of our chainsaws burn along with everything we own. My fiancé is most devasted that his Stihl Ms440 was lost. We have 4 kids, 2,4,15,20 Im reaching out to see if you guys can offer any kind of discount or anything at all to help us. Without a chainsaw its impossible for us to keep our business up and running and due to not having insurance we are at a complete loss right now and cant find any way to start towards our recovery.

Bought a BG56c blower, 1st time using it, it did not seem to run at full throttle, went back to store and was told by mechanic with attitude that nothing was wrong with it and that Stihl didn't make as good as they use to, went to salesman purchased it from and he also said it is what it is, that Stihl just didn't make them like they use to, I just wonder what management of the company thinks of that, name does say steal... steal...Look somewhere else

Saw was refurbished (local rep claims this is an "upgrade" and "custom", but he is also likely the original person blocking fixing this situation, sadly all companies have a few bad apples - I hope Stihl fixes this one - thankfully they overruled him).

After extensive back and forth, Stihl reversed their decision and requested to repair the saw - their higher ups were so concerned about this saw failing that they requested the damaged parts be sent to their manufacturing facility to be inspected by their engineers.It...

500i chainsaw was purchased (@ $1500) was encouraged to buy an extra 6pk of oil to increase warranty to 24mo. Used only three tanks of fuel in it - machine has a computer that tracks use, Stihl reports total run time of the saw (including being tested by sales crew before my purchase) of 2hrs and 17min.

Cant get to start. Followed instructions in manual and online, for several weeks and cannot get to start. Bring to official repair shop who verifies wont start. They take off covers and find severe piston damage.

The shop reports to Stihl for warranty instructions. Stihl says customer misuse, voids warranty.

Stihl oils used, new fuel, all instructions followed in manual, online Stihl website video, as well as Stihl slideshow instructions on stihl.com and stihlusa.com websites. Not sure how following three sets of published instructions amount to misuse, or how an obscenely expensive "professional" chainsaw should fail spectacularly with slightly over 2hrs of run-time and less than this of actual use.

I bought the STIHL Chainsaw 250 for my husband in October. It stays in the shop. It will not oil the bar and chain. They have yet to fix the problem. They tell me its running properly every time I pick it up only for me to find it doing the exact same thing over and over. I am so tired of carrying this POS back to the Ace Hardware store that I could literally scream!!!!!!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SAW!!!!!!!!!
