I had a 3 year old Stihl MS 270 Farm Boss get the clutch locked up and it got so hot so quickly that the plastic case had flames shooting from the bottom with two minutes. I cleaned it often and used their oil.
I notified them twice through their website email but no response. The dealer told me that it would cost more to repair it than buy a new one. I asked the dealer if Stihl would want to know about the issue because the saw was full of gas and oil and on fire in my hands.
Apparently they don't care. I threw my Team Stihl hat in the trash can and now run a Husqvarna 455 Rancher and like it a lot.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Monetary Loss: $450.
Preferred solution: Price reduction.
